How long does it take for a Short Sale to be assigned to a negotiator?

Precious1 asked:

I put in an offer on a house, the contract got signed by the sellers and their listing agent submitted the short sale package to Bank of America (BOA) on July 23rd. How long does it normally take for a loan negotiation specialist to be assigned? How long does the short sale process normally take from the time the short sale package is faxed in ’til the contract is approved by the bank? I’m not sure if this helps… but I live in Orlando. Thanks in advance!!! :o )
For Love Presley: Thanks for the info but I’m approved for a VA Loan.

    Create a video blog…instantly.

I’ve been told up to 60 days but usually not quite that long. I just put in an offer on a short sale myself so it’s all a waiting game from here.

My friend Harold has been waiting over 60 days now, his lease on his apartment is almost up.

depends on the bank… some of them are slow. Usually around 60 days but sometimes it could be even longer unfortunately.
